Standard outlets deliver only 2.4kW, adding barely 10-15km per hour—meaning 8+ hours for meaningful charging. They also risk overheating with prolonged heavy load. Dedicated EV chargers deliver 7.4kW (40km per hour) safely through properly sized circuits.

We install a dedicated hardwired circuit with individual circuit breaker and RCD protection, sized to AS/NZS 3008 standards. The charger is mounted at least 800mm from ground in a convenient location. Most installations complete in half a day.

Yes! While we’re Tesla-accredited installers, our chargers are compatible with all EVs using Type 2 connectors (the Australian standard). Whether you drive a Tesla, Hyundai, BMW, or any other EV, our installations work perfectly.

We provide transparent, upfront fixed pricing during your free quote. Cost varies based on distance from switchboard, required electrical upgrades, and charger model, but you’ll know exactly what you’re paying before we start.

We’ll assess your switchboard capacity during the quote and recommend any necessary upgrades. Often we can install EV chargers without switchboard work, but if upgrades are needed, we’ll include everything in one comprehensive quote.

I had Jonathan and team assist me in installing two PowerPoints outside and installed a wall hung TV. I will certainly recommend them to others. They were professional, very supportive with suggested ideas, explained what they were doing and went through everything once they finished. I was super impressed with their clear communications. and very conscious of leaving the environment clean. Great Job. Amazing team! Thank you

Jonathan did an excellent job installing a hardwired isolator switch on my home after my puppy chewed into some of power cord in my previous setup. He was on time, fast and did an excellent job.
Thanks Jonathan 🙂

Trevor Manuel

I cannot recommend Main Switch Electrical highly enough! They recently installed the lighting for my handbag store, and the entire experience was exceptional from start to finish. The team was not only highly skilled but also incredibly professional and accommodating to all our needs.

Melody M

Can’t recommend Jonathan from Main Switch Electrical enough. Provided a quote for a new GPO and installed it with less than 24 hour turnaround time. Never seen a tradesperson come into a home with their own floor mat to wipe their shoes, or vacuum to cleanup once they’re done. That speaks to Jonathan’s “treat it like my own home” attitude. Will definitely contact Main Switch Electrical for other work, highly recommend.

Patrick

Jonathan removed old cooler and installed new cooker. Added new circuit breaker in fuse box and ran wiring to kitchen. He was extremely thorough and communicative to get all the required information for quote and complete installation. I would post more pictures but all the work is neatly hidden out of sight. I would thoroughly recommend Jonathan to anyone.

Richard T

Main Switch Electrical crew were timely, efficient friendly and clean. Jonathan and his crew did a big job installing an air conditioner unit and old switchboard replacement during a busy time of year for everyone. Couldn’t be happier with the service. Thanks for squeezing us in boys. Much appreciated x
